Rupaul's Drag Race Season 7 Episode 8 RUVIEW

Oh hey look who's back with a new episode review! This episode is full of fun and unexpected twists so let's get started!

This week's mini challenge included making boring prison outfits into drag outfits and it included the beloved Latrice Royale as the cop! The girls were supposed to drag up their outfits and have a prison fashion show. In my opinion, all of them turned it out but I think my favorite was Katya. Kennedy ended up winning. Of course. No comment.

(Katya)

After that we get to the interesting stuff. Rupaul reveals who's coming back and Trixie Mattel walks in and everyone gets all excited. And then comes Tempest. And then comes Kandy. And Sasha. And Jasmine. And  Mrs Kasha Davis. And Max. EVERYONE COMES BACK. The girls are just rolling their eyes at this point and here's the twist. The challenge is to be teamed up with one of the eliminated contestants and put together a conjoined twin look. Which ever team wins, the eliminated queen on the team gets to come back into the competition.

Since Kennedy won the mini challenge, she gets to put the teams together. The teams were as follows:

Pearl and Trixie
Violet and Max
Ginger and Sasha Belle
Kennedy and Jasmine Masters
Jaidynn and Tempest Dujor
Miss Fame and Kandy Ho
Katya and Mrs Kasha Davis

Right away, Ginger is just not having it. She doesn't like the challenge and she doesn't want to be teamed up with Sasha. At one point she pulls Katya away for a minute and just vents to her because she feels like she's doing all the work. So right off the bat, I could tell she was going to be in the bottom for the first time ever. Ginger, girl, I love you, but you need to be ready for any challenge that's thrown at you! Pull yourself together mama!

Kennedy is complaining about Violet and her beauty. Girl. Please. I absolutely LOVE Violet and her corsets. Leave her alone.

Pearl is really excited to be with Trixie and right away I know they're going to slay this challenge because they just feed off of each other and they work together so well. So thank you Kennedy for basically making yourself lose. :) Cause I'm going to be real if I were in the competition I would put girls together that don't get along so that they would fail because I'm just shady.

Miss Fame rambles when she's nervous and she makes me laugh. I didn't know how to feel about her but she's so quirky and silly I can't help it. Rupaul throws a joke at her and it goes right over her head. But I love her on the show. I can't help it. "Miss Fame, how's your head?" "Fine!"

I really love Katya and Mrs Kasha Davis together. I know they were teamed up when Mrs Kasha Davis got eliminated but I do feel like, regardless, they can pull it together on this challenge because they're playing characters and that's completely different from hosting an awards show.

When Kennedy was given the power to choose the teams, I knew she would pick Jasmine. I think we all knew. And we also knew their conjoined twins would be pageant queens. No surprise. Next.

I feel terrible for Jaidynn because she was given an extra hard task but I know she's going to try her hardest to make it work.

I realize this episode how much I actually relate to Trixie and her backstory. Bless her. I love her dearly.

RUNWAY TIME!!! My favorite!

Top looks:

Pearl and Trixie Mattel (BREATHTAKING!)

Violet and Max

Katya and Mrs Kasha Davis

I actually agreed with Michelle Visage tonight. Thank you for standing up and saying Kennedy's look was predictable.

In the end, Pearl and Trixie won which means Trixie is back in the competition...HALLELUJAH FINALLY A DECISION THAT MAKES SENSE! The bottom was Ginger and Jaidynn and they had to lip sync with their conjoined twins. Ginger and Sasha were conjoined at the boobs, so they literally cut themselves out of their costumes and it was really bizarre but hilarious at the same time. In the end, Ginger kept her spot in the competition and Jaidynn sashayed away.

I really love Jaidynn but I wasn't too sad about this because I figured it was going to happen within the next couple episodes anyways. But Jaidynn is very talented and always so positive and happy. I love her.

Rupaul's Drag Race Season 7 Episode 4 RUVIEW

Lots of T will be spilled in this specific review of this week's episode, so let's just jump right into this. Episode 4 was an extremely big pill for me to swallow and I feel like I completely disagreed with the outcome of this episode.

There wasn't a mini challenge this week. Rupaul had the girls jump right into the main challenge. He had the girls divide themselves into 3 groups and each group got a Rupaul song that they had to write, record, and make a music video parody for. The teams were as follows:

Ginger Minj, Kennedy Davenport, Kasha Davis, Kandy Ho
Got "Let The Music Play" and turned it into "I Got Paid" talking about Rupaul's accomplishments and poking fun at her.

Trixie Mattel, Pearl, Katya, Miss Fame
Got "Dance With You" and turned it into "Tan With You"
Beach scene with massive sunburn and severe tan lines.

Jaidynn Diore, Max, Violet
Got "Sissy That Walk" and turned it into "Get Ready To Clock"
Made a parody of the "Sissy That Walk" music video where Violet was Adore, Jaidynn was Bianca, and Max was Courtney Act.

During the preparation, the teams are obviously clashing with their ideas...especially Trixie's group and Violet's group. Pearl and Miss Fame were going head to head about ideas regarding the theme and Max and Violet seemed to clash a bit. Honestly Violet clashes with pretty much everyone so I wasn't too shocked because she says what she's thinking and that's it. When the recording was happening, I felt that Jaidynn did excellent because she seemed to really grasp the concept and her playing Bianca was absolutely genius. She slayed. Period.

Now it's time for each team to film the music video and first up was Jaidynn's group. The only one who seemed to have any trouble was Max. Max was trying to channel some Courtney Act realness and it's hard to make Courtney funny. Other than that, Violet was brilliant as Adore and she seemed to really embody the personality well. Jaidynn basically was Bianca...to a T. Jaidynn was absolutely flawless in this challenge. You go girl.

Next was Ginger's group and I mean...I felt they could've been more clever with it. I mean some of it was funny but it wasn't really my cup of tea. Let's be honest. I loved Kasha's voice though because she did full camp which is what she's good at. Ginger is always hilarious to me and I don't think that will ever change. Kandy kind of faded into the background.

Last was Trixie's group and they basically did a beach themed video about tanning too much. I don't know exactly what happened to Trixie in this challenge but she seemed so nervous and confused. I think it was mainly nerves. Katya was absolutely brilliant...this challenge was right up her alley and she chopped it up and served it on a gold platter. Once again Rupaul got on Pearl's case for being too chill and it's starting to bother me. Miss Fame's most defining moment was when they were trying to figure out a scene and she laid out a towel and said "it would be great if we could all roll like rotisserie chicken." Oh Miss Fame and her chickens. Geez.

Kennedy talked about Sahara Davenport while getting ready for the runway. Rest in peace, girl.

The runway theme was green...you're welcome Michelle Visage!

Top Runway Looks
1. Pearl

2. Miss Fame

3. Trixie Mattel

4. Violet Chachki

5. Ginger Minj

I want to say that I wasn't all about Violet's look until I watched the episode more than once and then I was like crazy over it. Violet serves the runways every week. Period.

My favorite was "Get Ready To Clock" because I thought Jaidynn tied it together with her impersonation of Bianca Del Rio. If I didn't know better I would say she was Bianca. Good job girlfriend. Absolutely slayed it.

Kennedy ended up winning. I was really feeling Kennedy's vibe when she came on the show but now I'm not really sure anymore what to think. With this particular challenge, I feel the win should've went to Jaidynn just because she really nailed her part and she was hilarious. Katya was also brilliant...so either Katya or Jaidynn should've won. That's just my perception.

And here come the feelings. :(

First critique tonight went to Pearl. Pearl was once again getting thrown under the bus for not coming out of her shell. Michelle called her a stoner and Pearl defended herself. I am really getting pretty annoyed with the judges critiques of her because I know the relaxed vibe is just who Pearl is.

Next was Trixie. The judges basically built her up and called her funny but then shot her down saying she doesn't stand out enough. I completely disagreed with that and maybe it's because I see what Trixie is capable of and I get her and her drag. It disappointed me how it wasn't good enough. I get during the filming of the music video she was nervous but don't completely throw her under the bus for not being funny and saying you don't know who she is.

Max was called out for the grey hair which I knew she eventually would be. I disagree because Max is a character and if she's forced to be "versatile" I feel she might lose sight of herself and her character. I thought it was rude.

Violet was critiqued because she apparently didn't do enough for playing the character of Adore Delano. For the record, I loved Violet's impersonation of Adore and I thought she did all that she could've done.

Kandy's critiques...I agree with her blending into the background. What I don't agree with is the fact that, yes, she wears pretty dresses. That's just her drag and how she is. I thought she looked pretty this week and she improved her makeup. I just wish she would stop blending into the background.

Ms Kasha Davis was the last one to get critiqued and it was mainly about her singing. I thought she played up the camp in her singing and she had me rolling of laughter. I didn't really care for her runway look though.

In the very end, Rupaul decides to put Trixie and Pearl against each other in the lip sync. This is where things get sticky for me because I love both these queens so much. Pearl is someone I've completely fallen in love with this season. Trixie I've been following for a little over a year and I've always been so impressed with her and her style. So this happening really had me torn apart. Trixie ended up going home and Pearl stayed. I didn't want either of them to go home and I don't think either of them deserved to be in the bottom. It was also really hard for me to watch because they're friends outside of the show and they've worked together before and to see two friends against each other like that and see how they're forced to send someone home is a tough thing. After the lip sync was over, Pearl broke down and cried and Trixie walked out with a smile on her face and she held herself together really well. This episode had me crying at the end, I'm not going to lie...because not only did my favorite go home but seeing Pearl cry was heart breaking.

Drag Race was very disappointing this week and I wish it would've went differently.

RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE SEASON 7 CAST REVIEW

I know I try to separate myself from Rupaul's Drag Race because I feel that a lot of other artists are misunderstood and underestimated, and I plan to keep it that way, but seeing all these posts about Season 7, I'm getting the urge to write a review of what I think of each queen individually. Let's start with the queen I know the best considering she performs an hour away from my house.

1. Trixie Mattel

I am absolutely IN LOVE with Trixie. When I started getting into the drag scene and the clubs around me I did research to find out who my more local queens are and I found Trixie. I've been following her for almost a year already and I'm so excited she's on this season. I feel like she brings a special twist to the stereotypical cast and she's so campy and fun. I feel like a lot of people are underestimating her and usually the underestimated ones are the ones who get the farthest. Fingers crossed for Trixie. Bless her plastic heart. :)

2. Jaidynn Diore Fierce

Oooo girl! This one has the capability to put a bitch in her place and do it with honesty and class! She's really spunky and full of energy, I can't help but love her. She reminds me of an extremely energetic and sassy Latrice Royale. Get it girl! If she goes home early I will be insanely disappointed. GIVE ME MORE!

3. Miss Fame

I cannot get enough of Miss Fame and her flawless appearance. Sometimes I wonder if she's even human or if she's a robot disguised in flawless porcelain skin. I've gotten to know Miss Fame from her well known YouTube tutorials on how to beat that face. She was in high demand to be on Drag Race and now I really hope she makes it far, because that bitch is really talented and I feel she will slay!

4. Pearl

Everyone should know who Pearl is and if you don't, you've been living under a rock. Pearl has been everywhere in the online drag scene. I found her through another queen named BibleGirl666 (I love you Bible Girl. That was a shameless shoutout). Miss Pearl is an icon who has a really chill and relaxed personality but I see her reading bitches if it needs to be done. I have high hopes for this one and she has the potential to outshine anyone who crosses her. :)

5. Sasha Belle

All I can say when I think of Ms Sasha Belle is YAASSSSSS. She's proven that she's extremely versatile and you never really know what she's going to pull out. She's another one who I have high hopes for and I can't express enough how much I admire her work. She even does these Facebook videos where she has impersonated some of the other Season 7 cast members and she's extremely funny.

6. Max Malanaphy

I've been following Max for a few months on social media. I've heard a lot of people comparing her to Milk and Sharon Needles but in my opinion her style is all her own. She mixes camp with a dash of spookiness and just a bit of high fashion. She made her drag persona an actual character in her Meet The Queens video and she's just all around interesting.

7. Jasmine Masters

Jasmine has been really underestimated by people and it's been bothering me. To me, she seems like one of the most honest and down to earth queens that will be on the show this season. She has a serious of online videos called "I have something to say..." and she's given me quite a few laughs and has showed me that honesty is the best quality one can have. I have a lot of respect for her and I think people should give her a chance.

8. Katya Zamolodchikova

Ms Katya, I am LIVING! I can already tell that she is going to be one of my favorites to watch this season. She's so creative. I was on Facebook earlier and I saw her and Trixie share a video of Katya performing "My Heart Will Go On" from the Titanic movie and it was the Russian version. She made herself the iceberg and had this strap on half Titanic boat on her shoulders and wrapped around her body. I swear it was the greatest thing ever and I feel like when it comes to out of the box creativity, she will SLAY.

9. Kasha Davis

Kasha seems so genuine and sweet. While I was watching her Meet The Queens video, she had me smiling the whole time. She's very down to earth and has a very positive attitude. I don't know too much about her yet but I feel like even if she does end up going home she will still have a hell of a career ahead of her. She's absolutely beautiful and I feel like she has the potential to take the world by storm.

10. Tempest Dujour

When I first saw the snapchat hints, I seriously thought Tempest was Miss Coco Peru. I don't think I can describe Tempest's style exactly, but let's just say she's one of those queens that you either understand or you don't. She's very camp and out of the box but still extremely gorgeous. I feel like if she ever collaborated with Miss Coco Peru, it would be absolutely EXPLOSIVE. She has experience and she knows who she is as a performer and it shows. I can't help but love her. She's going to be a threat this season in my opinion.

11. Ginger Minj

Ginger is probably going to be the sweetheart this season. I feel like she's going to maybe be the one who just wants everyone to get along. I don't see her as being really sassy unless she has to be. I feel like she reminds me of someone who just wants to make friends with everyone unless you cross her path. That being said, I don't think people should underestimate her either because I see her as being someone that will use that quality to her advantage. While everyone else is fighting I feel like she will be the one who just stays out of it and works hard on her challenges. I could be wrong but I really love her. She's a sweetheart.

12. Kandy 'Ho

Kandy is the Puerto Rican of this season! I always end up loving the Puerto Rican contestants of every season. Kandy is absolutely adorable. I've heard her name basically everywhere and I know she's a very loved queen in the drag world. Her look is very polished and I swear I need to go to Puerto Rico and drink some of their water or something because I feel that Puerto Rican Drag Queens are all so polished and beautiful. But Kandy isn't like every other Puerto Rican queen because along with her beauty comes a lot of personality and attitude as well and I love it! You go girl!

13. Violet Chachki

GIRL. I have been following Violet just as long as I have been following Max. She's absolutely gorgeous!  Her style is very high fashion and her face is always beat for the galaxies. If she ever has to lip sync for her life, she would have that performance in the bag. She can dance, she's extremely pretty, and she can most definitely perform. Hands down.

14. Kennedy Davenport

Last but certainly not least, Kennedy Davenport. I honestly didn't know much about her until she got ruvealed with the rest of the cast so I had to do my own research. I found out she appeared on the hit TV show America's Got Talent and has also done pageants. From watching her Meet The Queens video, her personality was really laid back. But it's like when she gets onstage she goes crazy and she's unstoppable. I really love that about her and I hope she translates that energy into the challenges because if she does that, she will probably steal that crown.

As you can tell, I love all 14 contestants and I can find nice things to say about each and every one of them. There are a few I knew of already and a few that I've never heard of before. I usually try to stay away from the show on this page because my page is more focused on queens that haven't been on the show. I've spoken with a few girls from the show but most of my interviews are queens that haven't been on Drag Race. This review though, it's been in high demand. Ever since the ruveal happened, I've gotten lots of messages from people asking what I thought of all the contestants. My main overall judgement is that it's going to be a close season and all of them could possibly steal that crown. There isn't one that is better than the other. I'm also going to say that I wanted to do this because I see a lot of these contestants getting underestimated and I don't exactly agree with it because everyone does their own thing. I think all of them will bring their own talents and it's going to be one hell of a season. You're all welcome!
