Anabelle Lektor is a queen who is more interested in the artistic element to drag compared to the female impersonation element. She plans on eventually moving to Chicago and evolving her drag persona and taking herself to a different level. She's known for her very particular, one of a kind mug and is sure to keep you wanting to know more about her.
1. Who is Anabelle Lektor?
She's beauty, she's grace, and she'll eat your fucking face. She's scary, she's sexy, and she'll keep you coming back for more.
2. When and why did you begin doing drag?
I started doing bedroom drag at at the age of 17 in 2014. I didn't start doing actual drag until I was 19 in 2016. Something about drag always interested me. And not so much of the female impersonation side of drag but just drag in general. Being able to change who you are from head to toe with makeup, hair, and some couch cushions.
3. Where did you get your drag name?
I had an interesting connection with Hannibal Lecter when I was growing up watching his movies. So it kinda just came together.
4. What is the most unique thing about yourself?
My ability to look different all the time but remain the same aesthetic.
5. What is your favorite look you've ever done?
My favorite look would probably be my "I killed Cupid" anti-valentines day look. It was different from anything I've ever done.
6. What is something no one knows about you?
I'm EXTREMELY introverted. Even in drag. It's something I'm working on.
7. If tomorrow you moved to a different part of the country or world, what would you bring to the drag scene there that no one else has?
I would move to Mexico and serve my ability to scare but also seduce with my looks.
8. If you could pick one other drag performer that really inspires you, who would it be and why?
Scylla Kone, my drag sister. I've never seen a queen as young as her gain steady bookings so quickly and show SO much passion for this industry. She's a force to be reckoned with and she constantly inspires me with her originality.
9. Where do you draw most of your inspiration from?
Definitely drag performers and makeup artists like Walt Paper, Kabuki Starshine, Porcelain, and Arabia Felix.
10. If you auditioned for and made it on Rupaul's Drag Race, what would be your catch phrase walking into the work room?
"Have the lambs stopped screaming?.."
11. If you could move anywhere to do drag, which city would you choose and why?
Chicago. All the queens there are like a family and so creative. It's definitely where I would want Anabelle to evolve.
12. What is a goal you have set for yourself for the future?
Move to Chicago and live off of drag alone. Also learning to REALLY love myself.
13. What are 3 makeup products you can't live without?
My flash pallet, MAC's paint pot eye primer in "soft ochre", and my SugarPill Pro pallet.
14. Who is your favorite Season 9 contestant of Rupaul's Drag Race and why?
Nina Bonina Brown. Her drag is something different. Something fresh. She has NO filter. Not only is she calm and collected but she can read a bitch to filth when necessary.
15. What is your best advice to other queens who are up and coming?
Do what makes YOU happy. Never lose sight of who you are. Respect your elders and learn from constructive criticism. Be original. And most importantly, love YOURSELF.
